Workshop 2

Three workshops and a round-table on treating what is already built as a resource – who holds power over the shape of the city, and what counts as beautiful in a rebuilt environment. The series seeks participants aged 15–20 or 65 and over; places are limited. A light meal and fika at each session, and 600 kr to anyone who attends all four. The results are shown at a one-day festival during the Architecture Triennial at Färgfabriken, 17 April–27 June 2027. Sign up at [email protected].

A Halloween day for families with Lilleholmen, the galleria's children's club: visitors walk a ghost trail, and those who answer the questions along the way can win sweets. The trail runs until 16:00 or until the sweets are gone. No sign-up is stated.

More soil in the beds, and more bulbs if there are any

An artist-run urban planning office on the plot beside Färgfabriken, which the local plan earmarks as a playground: for three years it tries out what the plot can be used for today, with plants, animals, people, water, building parts and stories as co-creators. This autumn's open days are spent laying out growing beds together – marking them out, building edges, filling in soil and putting in bulbs – and visitors are welcome to join in. Thérèse Kristiansson of MYCKET runs the office within her doctoral work in urban planning at KTH, under the research project Ecologies of Care. No price and no sign-up are stated.

The level 2 garage turns into a flea market on five Sundays through the autumn: second-hand, vintage, children's things, clothes and homeware sold out of car boots. Parking is free on those days, 9:00–16:30. Sellers book a pitch through the page; no visitor price is stated. The galleria's two second-hand shops, Stockholms Stadsmission and Artikel2, are open as usual.

Themed discussions and planning of the young people's own culture night

For fifteen- to twenty-one-year-olds who want to see how an art hall works and have a say in its programme; no prior knowledge or equipment is needed. Participants are paid per meeting and given fika, and a single session can be tried first. On 11 November there is a programme evening of young people's own culture projects. Places are limited – sign up at [email protected] or by Instagram DM, naming the days you want to attend.

Planting

A flea market with free entry on a Sunday in November. Färgfabriken Evenemang describes the flea markets as roughly monthly and arranged by Färgfabriken's café, with up to about 25 sellers of vintage clothes, books, records and china, among other things, in the neighbouring building Smedjan – the English page names Smedjan as the place this time too, while the Swedish one names no room. Sellers are referred to [email protected].

Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol visit the galleria for three hours on a Saturday in November, for high fives and photos. The page gives the date and time but neither a price nor a sign-up.

The fourth session in Färgfabriken's and ArtPlatform's conference series on public art, two half-days on the theme of artistic commissions and processes, with lectures, panels and reference projects such as Skogsportalen in Västerås, Granens tid in Skåne, Holobiosis in Linköping and Lokstallarna and Bellevueparken in Blekinge. Those taking part include the artists Pia Sandström, Goldin+Senneby, Amanda Selinder, Nada Ali, Johanna Billing and Timo Menke, together with representatives of the City of Västerås, Region Skåne, Region Blekinge, Botkyrka municipality and the Public Art Agency Sweden. A viewing of Ndidi Dike's exhibition Rare Earth Rare Justice is also offered during the conference, and a dinner is arranged at cost price. Aimed at officials in municipalities and regions; registration is through the page, and the full programme was not published on 8 October 2026.
